Norse mythology takes place in the world tree; Yggdrasil. That was my inspiration for this map, including the runes surrounding the sides… Can you decipher their meaning?
It was the map room. The only room in the castle devoted entirely to maps, maps which lined each of the walls. The king could not travel to the farthest regions of his kingdom, so he often came here to survey the distant lands of his kingdom. He studied the water lined coasts. The shaded mountains and hills. The curling rivers. The dark forests. The almost 3D aesthetic to the features. The compass rose. All of the different features that came together to make the maps complete. You are the king (or queen) of your castle. Hang a map of Djaaderheim on your wall, and imagine all the exciting adventures in the far off lands. These maps are hand drawn; each is individual and unique for you to discover those far off places and imagine the fascinating people and creatures who live there, and the mysterious stories they might tell.
